Rocket Project
Rocket Log
Day 1
On the first day of work I fitted using a pot of boiling water to shrink the plastic, my main firing chamber made of two 2 litter bottles that after thy were fitted I used a colking gun to make sure that they didn't come apart.
Day 2
On day two I constructed the rocket itself, using the same method as the main firing chamber, the rocket was made of a "Clear" bottle and a smart water bottle.
Day 3
Today I tried many different parachutes, none of them worked with my rocket.
Day 4
Today I attached shims to hold my fins in place, this proved harder than I thought because the shims keep falling off.
Day 5
Today I attached the fins on the main firing chamber.
Day 6
Today I attached the fins to the rocket and the copper adapter to both.
Day 7
Today I attached the parachute and spray painted the entire thing.
Day 8
Today I attached the arms and had the first test flight

Reflection |
Conclusion |
On exhibition my rocket was second in the official launch. The V-4 preformed extremely poorly, this, combined with the bad look, made the rocket look like almost no time was spent on it. All of this combined to make the observers look down on me and my rocket.
This all made me disappointed in my rocket and my technical abilities. The rocket exhibition was a large disappointment for me because along with everything I have already stated many rockets preformed much better than mine. |
To find the max height of the rocket, first a data team had an inclonomiter to find the angle. after the exhibition we used the tangent function on a calculator to find how high the rockets went using the angle that the data team found. Then using a time that the data team found we used the time to find the acceleration of the rocket by dividing it by 2.
